ALPLA is launching a metal-free foam dispenser pump made of polypropylene, extending its mono-material pump range for personal care and pharmaceutical products. Its injection moulding division, ALPLAinject, will present the product at Beautyworld Middle East in Dubai at the beginning of October 2026.
The patented system weighs 25 grams in its standard version and incorporates a twistlock function. According to the company, this feature reduces the space required during transport and on the shelf. The pump is designed for bottles of various volumes.
ALPLA describes the dispenser as recyclable and says it has completed a pilot phase. The company now intends to work with anchor customers to establish commercial production. The supplied announcement does not specify a production start date or identify those customers.
The standard version offers customisation options, including the colour and shape of the dispensing head and closure. Customers can also specify post-consumer recycled material, known as PCR. ALPLA says this option can reduce the product’s environmental footprint, although the announcement provides no quantified assessment.
The development adds a foam dispenser category to ALPLA’s pump portfolio, which already includes several versions of a mono-material dispenser. It also extends the product development activities of ALPLAinject, the group’s injection moulding division.
Sree Hari R Nair, Global Head of Business Pumps and Devices at ALPLAinject, said the company could offer customers a customised, durable and recyclable solution for foam dispensers.
Michael Feltes, Managing Director of ALPLAinject, said the development supported brand manufacturers’ sustainability goals. ALPLA also links the product’s recyclability to circular economy objectives in national markets. The announcement does not provide details of local collection or recycling arrangements for the new pump, or specify the regulatory requirements it references.
